What is image compression?
Image compression reduces the file size of an image by removing redundant data or re-encoding it more efficiently. This makes images faster to upload, download, and share while preserving visual appearance as much as possible.

Are images uploaded to server?
No. All images are processed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files never leave your device, so nothing is uploaded to any server.

Does image compression reduce quality?
It depends on the quality level you select. High quality mode keeps near-original quality, balanced mode offers a good trade-off, and maximum compression produces the smallest files with some quality loss. PNG files are re-encoded losslessly by default.
